The Trek Precaliber 24 8-Speed Suspension is built for young riders who are ready to step up their trail confidence and ride with family on mixed terrain. Designed for kids aged 8–12 years, or between 129.5–149.8 cm (51–59") tall, it’s a bike that bridges the gap between everyday riding and light off-road exploration.
The frame is made from Alpha Silver aluminium, chosen for its strength and low weight making it easier for kids to handle, lift and control. The lowered top tube gives a better standover height so it's easier to get on and off, and there are built-in mounts for a rear rack and kickstand if you want to customise it later.
Up front, a 45mm travel suspension fork helps smooth out uneven paths and gentle trails, giving young riders extra comfort and confidence when the terrain gets a little bumpy. Shimano's reliable Tourney 8-speed drivetrain is operated via an intuitive twist shifter, making gear changes simple to learn and easy to use.
Stopping power comes from alloy linear-pull brakes, giving predictable and safe braking whether they’re descending a slope or cruising through town. The 24” alloy wheels are fitted with Bontrager XR1 2.25" tyres, which strike a nice balance between road speed and off-road grip ideal for varied riding surfaces.
Other thoughtful touches include a saddle-mounted carry handle, which can also be swapped for a rear light mount for improved visibility on low-light family rides. Like all Trek kids’ bikes, the Precaliber 24 is designed with real bike engineering from people who ride which means it’s easy to ride, durable, and ready to be passed on when outgrown.
If your child is showing signs of adventurous riding and you're looking for a reliable, well-built bike that can keep up, the Trek Precaliber 24 8-Speed Suspension is a smart, long-lasting choice.
