The Marlin 4 Gen 2 is Trek’s gateway into mountain biking—an entry-level hardtail that’s ready for your first trail rides, gravel paths or off-road shortcuts on the daily commute. At the heart of the bike is a durable Alpha Silver Aluminium frame, with clean internal cable routing for a neat finish and mounts for racks, kickstands and mudguards, making it just as capable for utility as it is for weekend escapes.
With SR Suntour XCE suspension up front offering 100 mm of travel, it smooths out rough tracks and uneven paths, giving you more comfort and control when heading off-road. The Shimano 14-speed drivetrain combines Altus and Tourney components, offering simple, reliable shifting with enough range to handle hills and flats.
Tektro mechanical disc brakes provide consistent stopping power in all weather, and the 29-inch Bontrager wheels are fitted with wide XR2 Comp 2.20" tyres, giving good grip across variable terrain. For smaller riders, Trek’s thoughtful geometry on XS and S sizes features a curved top tube and short-reach brake levers, making the bike easier to handle and more comfortable to control.
Whether you’re discovering trails, cruising rail paths, or need a bike that can hop kerbs on the school run, the Marlin 4 is a dependable first mountain bike with the versatility to take you further. It’s also covered by Trek’s lifetime frame warranty, giving you long-term peace of mind.
