Trek Fuel EXe 5 2025 - Electric Mountain Bike

150mm Suspension
The EXe 5 is equipped with 150mm of front travel from the RockShox Recon forks and 140mm at the rear via the X-Fusion shock, delivering a balanced and confident ride across all terrains. Both suspension units are easy to set up with simple, intuitive adjustments, allowing riders to fine-tune the feel to match their style and the trail ahead. You’ll glide over rocky trails with ease and enjoy a comfortable, planted feel whether you’re climbing, descending, or cruising across undulating terrain.
TQ-HPR50 Motor
The TQ-HPR50 motor is super-efficient with an amazing power-to-weight ratio. Most motors use gears and belts that take up space and can make noise or break. The TQ-HPR50 uses a harmonic pin-ring drive transmission that’s small, ultra-quiet and unbelievably natural-feeling. Give yourself 40% more range with an optional 160 Wh external range extender. It fits in a standard bottle cage and doesn’t require any complicated wiring or special mounts.
Integrated Display
The Fuel Exe 5 features the TQ integrated LED display which is positioned out of the way on the top tube, but gives you all the stats you’ll need on your ride at a glance. You can easily track your rides, check battery level and access real-time range calculations and navigation features via the Trek central app.
Finally took the plunge and ordered an e bike through my employers cycle to work scheme. I was finding myself unmotivated to ride due to lack of fitness and a lot of my regular trails have lots of climbing. The assistance offered by the TQ motor makes me ride like I'm in my twenties again. Word of warning though. Read the instructions and do a few charge cycles before setting off on a big ride. I just charged it up and took it to Dalby forest. . . and ran out of juice about six miles away from the carpark. Riding the bike is not impossible with no power, but it's not much fun.
