The heart of the ADV 8.9 Carbon is its 990-gram C10 carbon frame and 420-gram carbon fork. Its neutral 71.5-degree head angle delivers predictable handling on and off the road. The frame also boasts hidden mounts for full-length mudguards, dropper post routing, and bottle and storage fixings on the top tube, seat tube, and downtube.
The Boardman ADV 8.9 Carbon is fitted with Shimano's dedicated gravel-specific GRX series groupset. A GRX 10-speed drivetrain benefits from adventure-specific ergonomics and optimised gearing. The double 30/46 tooth chainset and the 10-speed, 11-36 tooth cassette at the rear offer ample gear choices, allowing you to maintain power and speed on the flat while keeping cadence high on climbs.
Goodyear's 40mm gravel-specific Connector is the ADV 8.9's tyre of choice. Designed as a fast-rolling all-terrain tyre, its versatile tread pattern delivers straight-line momentum whilst retaining grip. Reliable and robust adventure-specific Boardman ADV wheels feature 12mm through axle hubs laced with Sapim Race spokes onto tubeless-ready alloy rims with a 22mm internal width.
Flared alloy handlebars allow for an optimal ergonomic hand position on the hoods, more control whilst in the drops, and facilitates more frontal space to carry additional luggage. The ADV's Prologo Akero RS is a dedicated adventure/gravel saddle that balances comfort and performance.
